Lady Injustice was painted in response to our city’s criminal justice system and their lack of response to prosecute dangerous domestic violence cases. This has caused these violent offenders to walk free and justice for their victims is not served. Lady Injustice is represented as a skeleton cartoon figure holding a sword by the blade that balances the scales. Meanwhile blood drips from her hands by the blade of the sword and into the scales. In her right hand, held behind her back, is a wad of cash. This represents that money is more important than serving justice. You cannot serve the love of money and justice at the same time.

Moreover, this painting serves as a voice for my friend, Nikki Cheng Saelee McCain, who is missing and suspected to have been murdered while trying to leave a dangerous relationship.  Nikki disappeared two weeks before the DV trial against her husband was to start. Six weeks later, the DA dropped the charges against Nikki‘s husband, because Nikki was not there to testify. It has now been a little over one year since she has gone missing, and we are still searching for her and spreading awareness as much as we can.

85% of the proceeds from this painting will go directly to Nikki’s family to help pay for costs related to the search. The other 15% will go towards my personal cost of painting the piece and shipping if required.

Mounted with a sawtooth hanger, making this painting ready to hang! Measures approximately 30 x 40”.

This piece is one of a kind. I will never paint a piece like this again, and I will not make prints. If you want to own something that takes a stand for what is right, benefits a family in need, and to be a part of a movement that is bigger than yourself, this painting is for you. 🧡
